Welcome to Foodland Pupukea

LOCATIONS

Welcome to Foodland Pupukea, an iconic grocery destination located at 59-720 Kamehameha Hwy, Haleiwa, HI 96712. A beloved spot for both North Shore residents and visitors alike, this Foodland serves as a culinary beacon for those seeking delicious, high-quality local fare right before they hit the stunning beaches of Oahu.

When you step inside Foodland Pupukea, you are greeted by a vibrant atmosphere filled with the enticing aromas of fresh cuisine. The real star here is, without a doubt, the poke. Known across Hawaii for its freshness and variety, Foodland Pupukea offers an impressive selection of poke, including unique options like Hawaiian-style hamachi poke. Customers rave that this poke literally melts in your mouth, with many opting for it by the pound or in convenient poke bowls with rice for a perfect beachside meal.

  • Fresh and Flavorful: The poke is unmatched, and you can find a plethora of choices, many of which are ready-made for a swift grab-and-go.
  • Fried Chicken Bliss: After sampling their salt and vinegar chicken wings, it's clear that the culinary delights extend beyond poke. These wings have been noted as some of the best grocery store chicken wings around.
  • Convenience is Key: With a friendly and efficient system in place, even on the busiest days, customers feel cared for by attentive staff ready to assist with their choices.
  • A Comprehensive Selection: Beyond just poke and fried chicken, Foodland offers an array of beverages, snacks, and grocery essentials, making it a one-stop shop for all your beach day needs.

Many customers have found the service at Foodland Pupukea to be exemplary, with staff known for their friendliness and willingness to provide extra utensils or recommendations. On certain days, when the store is bustling with activity, taking a number may be advisable to ensure swift service.

As Stephanie E. perfectly sums it up, "the service was a 10/10," and many patrons echo this sentiment, highlighting that the Foodland experience here is not just about shopping but about enjoying the local vibe.

It’s worth noting that while some may find prices skewed toward the higher end, particularly tourists who may compare costs to the mainland, the quality of food and overall experience certainly justifies it. After all, nothing beats having fresh ahi poke as you soak in the breathtaking views of North Shore.

If you find yourself in the area, especially after a snorkeling adventure at Shark’s Cove, a pit stop at Foodland Pupukea should be on your agenda. Your taste buds will thank you, and you might just become a regular at this North Shore favorite.

This is one of the most iconic Foodlands being the go-to spot for those on the North Shore-- serving both North Shore residents and those visiting. Foodland is known for their poke and they have an amazing selection of fresh and previously frozen poke. Most recently, I came by and they had a Hawaiian-style hamachi poke! Poke by the pound or getting a poke bowl with rice-- you really can't go wrong. On busy days, don't forget to grab a number. It can seem a bit chaotic but they got a good system in place. Don't sleep on their chicken-- we tried their salt and vinegar chicken wings lately and it was some of the best grocery store chicken wings we've ever had. You buy them by the pound right next to the poke bar-- and when our number was called at the poke bar, we were also able to ask for some chicken. When we were in line, we overheard 3 different people get their orange chicken-- so that must be popular too! The folks working both behind the counter and at check-out are friendly --- and gave us more untincils than we needed. More than just poke and fried chicken you can get drinks, chips, and everything you might need for a beach day. Plus, it is a whole grocery store with produce, meats, cheeses, etc. This Foodland is a bit overpriced and seems to be more geared towards catering to tourist-- which is understandable.

Foodland has the best poke ever! It literally melts in your mouth and is so fresh! We got some poke and chips and headed over to the turtle beach to enjoy. The service was a 10/10 and they're pretty patient with you making your choices. They probably know everyone is mostly tourists in that are. I cannot wait to come back to try all their poke!

So conveniently located across the street from Shark's Cove. Love the variety of their poke and hit foods section. Ample parking for busy days and holidays. I will come here every time I go snorkeling at Shark's Cove/

After having had very mediocre (and expensive) meals at Turtle Bay Resort, walking into Foodland felt heavenly. All the ready-made foods at the deli not only looked terrific, but it tasted pretty great, too (we're talking lumpia, musubi, onigiri, fried chicken skin, chicken wings, chicken tenders, potato wedges, all kinds of fresh poke, sushi... you get the idea). You can also pick up all your grocery essentials here and there is a Coffee Bean and Tea Leaf adjacent to the market. If you need the restroom, there are none for customers and you will have to go across the street to the beach bathroom. Plenty of parking and friendly service, too. I'm a fan!

I remember eating Poke multiple times from Foodland when I was in Maui and had to stop off when I saw this one. I usually run away from grocery store food but in HI, it's different. I am not sure how the locals view it but for someone like who does not live here, the poke here is outstanding. It's a well stocked grocery store as well but if you are from the mainland, make sure you don't compare the prices...trust me on this.

Drove all the way from kapolei just for their FRESH Ahi limu poke!!! Definitely worth it... Kamakana Foodland is over priced for its poor "fresh" quality

I really enjoy my neighborhood Foodland in Pūpūkea. The store has a low key friendly no matter what time of the day you visit. They make fresh sushi tolsand poke all morning y. Hubby loves tne Crazy Combo Roll. I specifically went to get some much needed items for dinner. I'm glad that all my items were o sale. Not mainland sale prices but hey, every penny counts. The self service checkouts were open but not many people use them still. This just takes some getting use too by some. I love it and Your out quickly versus waiting in line. Who knows, maybe I'll run into you at my local Foodland.

We recently traveled to Oahu, and our friends recommended going to Foodland for all our snacks, Poké, and Spam Musubi. WOW! Foodland isn't just a grocery store, but THE place to get all your foodie beach needs at affordable prices (especially in Hawaii)! They sell Poké by the pound, and it's so fresh and delicious. The Spam Musubi is also sold hot and individually wrapped, and the bento boxes are hot and ready to go too, making it so convenient to pack for the beach or when traveling. We have become big fans of Foodland...this place is amazing!
